Before I get into the main topic, I've made a few updates to this site!
- First off, I've re-designed the "Tags" section and added different ones. I felt it looked better when the tags were roughly the same size. So I'm only going to add tags from this moment on.
- Second of all, bullet points have been edited. They now use the "ul type="circle"" code to give them a more interesting look. Thanks to Jen for the reference and idea.
- I've modified the general layout to use exact widths instead of percentages. This was done because I noticed that when the window is anything but full-screen, the layout moves around and gets messed up. Using exact pixel sizes fixed this issue.
- And lastly, back buttons have been added to some pages and a sub-heading added to the "Featured" area.
With that out the way. Yeah. PHP anyone?
It's an interesting thing to learn. I've started work learning it through this
website. That link will take you directly to a tutorial on how to build up your own CMS (Content Management System).
CMS are basically just ways of storing and organizing your content into databases such as MySQL.
And really a really handy thing to
get to drips with. If you can master PHP and MYSQL, your websites become more dynamic and allow you to store mass amounts of information
cleanly and easily. If your looking to expand beyond what I have in place right now (Hand-crafted, HTML formatted articles)
I recommend you to learn PHP!

So yeah. Finally, after a month or two, I've put by baby up live. This website has been pretty fun to develop. But it is by no means complete or in the final version. Lots will be added to this website soon enough and next week, I'm looking forward to writing my first article of resources and help for other web developers out there. So this not only helps you, but it helps me too, as I am still learning as I go along.
Anyway. Once I get into a flow, this website should be a good learning curve for me.(:
Things next to be added:
- Interface Designs of my own.
- Gifts given to me (I might actually delete this section. I want to focus more on my work)
- Misc.
- Google Ads. (Displayed nicely, with some luck.)
That's all for now. Check back next week for more!
-Steven.
